PaymentsNova Buyer Checklist

Payment Provider Evaluation Checklist

Choosing a provider by price or a payment-method list is not enough. Evaluate its complete fit with your market, risk profile, architecture and operations.

Coverage

Which countries, currencies, methods, industries and business models does it actually accept? Is coverage direct or dependent on third parties?

Underwriting and compliance

Which KYB/KYC, documentation, limits, restrictions and risk criteria apply to the merchant?

Integration

Do the API, documentation, webhooks, sandbox and error model support predictable implementation and operations?

Performance

Which metrics can it provide for authorization, latency, availability, declines and behavior by market or method?

Settlement

In which currency or asset does it settle, at what frequency, with which fees, minimums, reserves or applicable conditions? Terms should be reconfirmed before quoting.

Reporting and reconciliation

Can transactions, refunds, chargebacks, payouts, fees and settlement be matched to consistent records?

Support and escalation

Is there commercial and technical ownership, an SLA where applicable and a clear escalation path during incidents?

Resilience

Does the provider reduce a single point of failure or create a new one? Can it coexist with routing, redundancy and alternatives?

Expected outcome

The evaluation should end with a clear matrix of fit, risks, dependencies, terms to reconfirm and the role each provider would play in the payment stack.
